Samsung C&T wins gold at London Design Awards with Raemian One Perla

Samsung C&T announced Sunday that its Raemian One Perla exterior and community design won a gold award in the architectural design category at the 2026 London Design Awards.

The London Design Awards, organized by the International Awards Associate, is a global design competition spanning architecture, interior design and user experience, with the aim of recognizing outstanding design and creative projects worldwide. This year's edition drew more than 2,000 entries from over 40 countries.

Raemian One Perla is a premium apartment complex developed by Samsung C&T through the reconstruction of the Bangbae District 6 zone in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The company applied a distinctive design philosophy to the project, moving beyond the conventional notion of an apartment as a purely functional living space.

The geometric exterior emphasizes both horizontal and vertical lines to give the complex a sense of unity, while contrasting colors and finishing materials, curtain-wall-style facades and vertical louvers add depth and dimension. Brown tones on the main residential buildings reinforce a modern aesthetic.

Vehicle drop-off areas on the below-ground floors of each building feature horizontal-patterned stonework and linear lighting to create a refined atmosphere. The adjoining common lobbies carry the same horizontal pattern in stone and metal detailing, with ceiling heights maximized to enhance the sense of space and openness.

The community interiors draw on the image of a pearl — the meaning behind the complex's name, Perla — to deliver a classic design sensibility. Key community facilities including the lobby, sky lounge, dining restaurant, fitness center, swimming pool and library showcase a variety of premium finishing materials alongside classic design elements such as herringbone, mosaic and wainscoting, creating an elegant and refined interior throughout.

Samsung C&T swept the world's three major design awards in 2024, then claimed a total of seven international design honors last year, including Germany's iF Design Award and the US IDEA Design Award. The latest gold marks the company's second consecutive win at the London Design Awards — following Raemian One Pentas the previous year — again demonstrating its design competitiveness on the international stage.
