Partnership renewed with Grit Motortainment for races in Korea, Japan and China
Lamborghini Seoul, the official domestic dealer of Lamborghini, announced Sunday that it has renewed its partnership with Grit Motortainment and will compete in this year's Super Trofeo Asia series.
The two sides held a signing ceremony Wednesday at the Lamborghini Seoul Central showroom in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Lamborghini Seoul CEO Kim Jong-bok and Grit Motortainment CEO Lee Chang-woo attended the event.
Through the campaign, Lamborghini Seoul aims to promote the brand's high-performance credentials and racing heritage while helping broaden the base of motorsport in South Korea.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo is a one-make racing championship held across Europe, North America and Asia in which all competitors drive identical vehicles, meaning driver skill and race strategy — rather than mechanical advantage — determine the outcome.
In this year's Super Trofeo Asia series, driver Jeon Yun will compete in the Korean and Japanese rounds. The Korean round, held in Inje, Gangwon Province, will see driver Lee Jeong-ung join the lineup, fielding a two-driver Korean entry.
The team will campaign the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, a one-make machine developed from a GT3 race car. It is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine producing 620 horsepower. Extensive use of carbon fiber keeps the curb weight to approximately 1,285 kilograms, and the car reaches a top speed of 280 to 290 kilometers per hour.
Beyond racing, Lamborghini Seoul plans to continue expanding opportunities for customers to experience the brand's racing DNA firsthand through a range of motorsport programs.
"This partnership is a meaningful initiative to bring Lamborghini's performance philosophy and racing heritage to life for our customers in Korea," Kim said. "We will showcase the brand's racing heritage on the Super Trofeo Asia stage and use motorsport as a platform to deepen customer engagement and deliver a differentiated brand experience."
Lamborghini Seoul earlier hosted a gala dinner marking its 10th anniversary at the Westin Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul, inviting more than 240 owners to celebrate the milestone and hear about the dealership's future direction.
Since delivering its first 19 vehicles in 2016, Lamborghini Seoul has sold a cumulative total of more than 2,400 units and has grown to an annual sales volume of more than 300 vehicles in recent years.
