Ballad singers Jang Hye-jin and Lee Bo-ram, heirs to Korea's great diva tradition, and Lee Chang-min, known for his wide vocal range, are heading to Donghae in Gangwon Province on Friday.
The three will perform at the outdoor stage of the Donghae Culture and Arts Center at 8 p.m. that evening as part of the specially invited concert "2026 Woori Hamkke Noraehallaeyo" ("Let's Sing Together").
The concert is one of several events through which Donghae aims to establish itself as an arts and music city in the second half of the year, blending music, visual art and other disciplines.
The city plans to follow up with an exhibition of replica works by Dutch master Vermeer, a play titled "Noingui Kkum" ("An Old Man's Dream") in September, and a concert opera production of "La bohème" in October.
Friday's concert is inspired by the film "Begin Again" and will feature Korea's leading vocalists in solo, duet and ensemble performances, offering audiences a night of harmony and emotion.
DK of December will also appear in both solo and collaborative sets, performing emotional ballads for Donghae residents.
Friday marks the third day after the opening of Donghae's beaches, including Mangsang and Chuam, making the concert a fitting highlight for early-season visitors looking to extend their stay.
"This is a special stage brought together by top-tier vocalists, and we expect it to give both residents and tourists an unforgettable summer night," said Kim Seon-ok, head of the city's culture and arts division. "We hope many people will come out and enjoy a high-quality performance."
