Actor Lee Dong-gun's Jeju cafe to suspend operations after 15 months

Actor Lee Dong-gun's cafe in Jeju is set to suspend operations.

A notice posted Monday on the cafe's official social media account announced that the venue would "take time to reorganize starting Thursday" and expressed "sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported and visited us."

According to the notice, the cafe will halt operations for now while it undergoes reorganization. No specific reopening date has been announced.

Lee opened the cafe in Aewol-eup, Jeju, in April last year.

The venue drew attention for its signature "sand coffee," brewed slowly in high-temperature sand.

Lee personally prepared coffee and greeted customers. Just two months after opening, he also launched a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.

Lee has been on an acting hiatus of roughly three years since the 2023 release of "Celebrity." He currently appears on the SBS variety program "My Ugly Duckling" and is set to join JTBC's "Divorce Deliberation Camp" as a new host starting in July.

Lee married actor Jo Yoon-hee in 2017, and the couple welcomed a daughter the same year before divorcing by mutual agreement in 2020.
