Lee Kang-in set for Atletico Madrid move in deal worth over 40 million euros: reports

South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in is set to join Atletico Madrid of Spain's La Liga, according to reports from France.

European transfer insider Fabrizio Romano said Monday on social media that "Lee Kang-in is heading to Atletico Madrid — full agreement reached between all parties," adding his signature phrase "Here we go," which he uses to signal a completed transfer.

French outlet RMC Sport also reported Monday that Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid had agreed on the transfer. PSG agreed on a fee slightly above 40 million euros (about 70 billion won), RMC Sport said.

Lee, 25, joined PSG in 2023 and appeared in 124 official matches for the club, recording 16 goals and 16 assists.

During his time at PSG, he also won the UEFA Champions League in two consecutive seasons.

Lee previously played in Spain for Valencia (2018–2021) and Mallorca (2021–2023). If the Atletico Madrid move is confirmed, he will return to La Liga for the first time in three years.
