LX Pantos has released a sustainability report that extends its ESG (environmental, social and governance) management scope to include overseas operations. A key feature is the expanded disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions data and employee human rights and safety information, reflecting the company's significant overseas sales and global logistics network.
The comprehensive logistics company announced Wednesday the publication of its "2026 Sustainability Management Report," documenting ESG management performance at home and abroad. LX Pantos publishes the report annually to share its sustainability strategy and results with stakeholders.
The report covers nine key issues identified through a double materiality assessment — a methodology that evaluates both the impact a company has on the environment and society, and the impact environmental and social issues have on the company's business.
Through the assessment, LX Pantos identified climate change adaptation and mitigation, energy, eco-friendly logistics services, consumer value management, employee management, information security, risk management, business conduct, and new growth drivers and business diversification as its priority issues. The report details the company's response strategies and key achievements for each area.
The most significant change in this year's report is the expanded reporting scope. Environmental data now covers not only domestic facilities but also major overseas sites. LX Pantos calculated both direct greenhouse gas emissions from its domestic and international operations and indirect emissions from purchased electricity and heat, then completed third-party verification of the figures.
The social section also incorporates new overseas data. The company aggregated employee data from nine European subsidiaries to disclose the status of human rights and labor practices, workplace safety, working conditions, and education and career development. The move is intended to provide greater transparency into how the company manages its workforce across global operations.
Demand for carbon emissions data from transportation processes and supply chain human rights and safety information has been growing across the logistics industry. Pressure to decarbonize the sector is also mounting — the International Maritime Organization last year approved a draft shipping net-zero regulation combining vessel fuel standards with a greenhouse gas pricing mechanism.
On governance, the report highlights ethics and compliance performance. LX Pantos disclosed zero cases of corruption or fair-trade violations and a 100 percent completion rate for its integrity management training program.
The report was prepared in accordance with GRI Standards 2021, the international sustainability reporting framework, and also references global ESG standards and guidelines including SASB, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Global Compact and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. Independent third-party verification was conducted to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of the information.
Last year, LX Pantos received a Bronze rating from EcoVadis, the global ESG rating agency. The company has also earned a B rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project, LEED Gold certification for its Megawise Cheongna Center, and an A+ rating under the Ministry of Health and Welfare's community contribution recognition program.
"LX Pantos is advancing its sustainability management by extending ESG oversight beyond Korea to our overseas operations," said Lee Yong-ho, chief executive of LX Pantos. "Under our ESG vision of delivering value for people and the planet, we will continue to communicate transparently with our stakeholders."
