Moorim Paper to supply eco-friendly paper to Seoul children's museum year-round

Moorim Paper has partnered with Seoul Sangsang Nara, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's children's museum, to supply eco-friendly paper for children's education and exhibition programs throughout the year.

Moorim Paper announced Wednesday that it signed an MOU with Seoul Sangsang Nara at the museum inside Seoul Children's Grand Park on Tuesday. Lee Jong-cheol, head of Moorim Paper's management planning division, and Choi Yun-a, director of Seoul Sangsang Nara, attended the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, Moorim Paper will supply paper for activity sheets, teaching materials, leaflets, invitation cards and other printed materials used in the museum's regular education programs and special exhibitions. The donated paper includes the country's only low-carbon product-certified paper and Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper made from sustainably sourced timber.

The partnership grew out of Moorim Paper's sponsorship of the museum's Children's Day special events. The company supplied eco-friendly paper for the Seoul Sangsang Nara Children's Day event for two consecutive years — last year and this year. Both sides agreed to expand their cooperation to a year-round sponsorship arrangement, sharing the view that safe hands-on environments and eco-friendly materials are essential in children's education and cultural activities.

The donated paper is already in use at the museum. A special exhibition that opened Saturday — "Picture Book Studio: The Trivial and the Special" — features a participatory program in which children use activity sheets made from Moorim Paper stock to express everyday moments through writing and drawing.

Moorim Paper has been extending its paper sponsorship across children's education and cultural events. At the DDP Children's Drawing Competition held in April, the company supplied Moorim SP drawing paper that has passed common safety standards for children's products. About 500 children took part in the event, where Moorim Paper helped create an environment in which children could draw with peace of mind.

The company also provided eco-friendly paper for the E-mart Tomorrow Children's Environment Festival, a Marine Day event organized by an eco-friendly platform called "Gapljiwoo." The paper was used in children's environmental education programs, including a coloring activity featuring characters based on endangered marine species.

"We hope that as children touch and express themselves through paper, they not only develop their creativity but also naturally come to appreciate the environmental value that paper holds," a Moorim Paper official said. "We will continue to pursue diverse social contribution activities using paper as a medium in children's education and cultural settings."
