Hana Securities joins disability employment program — first in financial sector

Hana Securities announced Wednesday it will join the "2026 Leading Company Strategic Job Development Project," run by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities — becoming the first financial sector company to participate in the program.

Since the program launched in 2023, a total of 12 companies have been selected. Participating firms identify and develop roles suited to workers with disabilities and receive customized consulting support aimed at expanding disability employment.

Over the next six months, Hana Securities plans to strengthen its disability employment foundation by combining customized job-development consulting with employment support services provided through regional branches of the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities.

The company has also independently built a "youth-friendly disability employment model" to help young people with disabilities enter the financial sector on stable footing. The model was recently highlighted as a best-practice case at a forum on promoting disability employment at securities and asset management firms, hosted by the Korea Financial Investment Association.

Hana Securities operates a one-stop hiring system covering customized job training, recruitment and post-hire settlement support. After employees join, the company conducts regular check-ins on job adaptation and assigns dedicated support staff to help new hires adjust.

"This participation will serve as an opportunity to expand jobs where young people with disabilities can fully demonstrate their capabilities in the financial industry," said Jeong Gi-hwan, head of Hana Securities' management support group. "We will continue to lead the way in expanding disability employment and fostering an inclusive workplace culture."

Hana Securities is also working to improve disability awareness in the workplace. On June 26, the company held a cultural education program called "Il Deohagi Uri" at its Yeouido headquarters in Seoul, combining a live music performance with educational content delivered by Hanbit Arts Group, a professional arts ensemble of visually impaired performers.
