Shinsegae Food to export 'Yeongyang Samgyetang' to US with initial shipment of 8,000 pouches

Shinsegae Food announced Wednesday it will export its home meal replacement product "Yeongyang Samgyetang," a ready-to-eat ginseng chicken soup, to the United States, with an initial shipment of about 8,000 pouches.

Shinsegae Food launched Yeongyang Samgyetang in 2022 as a convenient health-food option, and the product recorded cumulative domestic sales of 500,000 units last year. The export shipment will be distributed to more than 100 brick-and-mortar stores, including Korean grocery chains such as Mega Mart, Zion Market and Hannam Chain, as well as ethnic market retailers such as 99 Ranch and Tokyo Central.

"We plan to gauge local consumer response based on how the initial shipment sells, then expand our export lineup and distribution network accordingly," a Shinsegae Food official said.
