MAN Truck driver logs over 3.05 million km in 17 years, wins 'Max Mileage Master' title

MAN Truck Bus Korea announced Wednesday that it has concluded its "Max Mileage Master" customer participation program, held to mark the company's 25th anniversary in Korea, selecting a winner who has driven more than 3.05 million kilometers.

The Max Mileage Master is a global customer engagement program designed to highlight MAN Truck's durability through real-world cumulative mileage records and long-term operation cases. The company verified each entrant's accumulated distance based on submitted vehicle information and odometer photos, then selected the top record holder.

This year's domestic winner, Jeon Chan-ho, recorded more than 3.05 million kilometers over approximately 17 years in a MAN TGX 28.480 6x2-2 delivered in 2009. The vehicle has been used for container transport across the country — including routes connecting Incheon and Busan ports as well as Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and South Gyeongsang Province — and maintained stable performance even under long-haul conditions, the company said.

Jeon has continued hauling freight in the same truck since it was delivered in 2009. "A truck is equipment directly tied to my livelihood, so stable operation mattered just as much as simply keeping it running for a long time," he said. "The MAN TGX is still doing its job in the field, and it's a vehicle I can trust going forward."

Jeon credited consistent vehicle maintenance and use of authorized service centers as the keys to the truck's longevity. "Consistently having consumables replaced and major inspections done at official service centers, and using genuine parts, helped me operate stably for more than 3.05 million kilometers," he said.

MAN Truck held an awards ceremony Friday at its Osan Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, presenting the winning customer with 5 million won ($3,280) in service benefits redeemable at authorized service centers nationwide.

MAN Truck Bus Korea President Peter Andersson said Jeon's mileage record "best represents the trust MAN Truck has built with Korean customers over the past 25 years." He added that durability proven over years of real-world operation and reliable service support are the core values MAN Truck pursues, and pledged that the company would continue to be a trusted business partner through improvements across its products and services so customers can drive longer with greater peace of mind.

Meanwhile, MAN Truck has been actively expanding customer touchpoints with its brand, recently holding MAN Power Road test-drive events at 14 major locations across the country.
