Aju Industry launches special concrete technology consulting business

Ready-mixed concrete company Aju Industry, led by CEO Moon Seung-man, is launching a new "special concrete technology consulting" business.

The company signed a technology cooperation agreement with SY Samyang, a concrete product manufacturer, on Tuesday to respond to shifting conditions in the construction market and growing demand for special concrete. The two companies also agreed to pool their technical capabilities for joint research and development and to expand business cooperation.

The agreement covers special concrete technical advisory services, ready-mixed concrete and mix-design support, improvements to production processes and equipment operations, upgrades to quality management systems, and joint development of new products. The two companies plan to form a working-level consultative body to identify areas of cooperation and pursue phased commercialization.

Through the agreement, Aju Industry will expand into technology consulting built on its special concrete expertise and quality management know-how, and plans to explore business models linking technology transfer with contract production. The company also expects to extend its service territory into areas where it has yet to establish a presence, including the northern and eastern parts of Greater Seoul and the Chungcheong region. SY Samyang is based in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

"We will build a foundation for mutual cooperation by combining the technical capabilities and experience both companies possess," Moon said Wednesday. "We will deliver greater value to customers on the strength of differentiated technological competitiveness."
