'Agent Kim Reactivated' star Yoon Kyung-ho to hold fan signing event in silence

Actor Yoon Kyung-ho will hold a fan signing event while observing a vow of silence.

On Wednesday, the official social media account of the SBS drama series posted an announcement inviting fans to attend what it called a "quiet" campaign pledge fulfillment — a silent fan signing by Yoon.

According to the post, the signing event will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at the SBS Broadcasting Center in Mok-dong, Seoul. Fans in attendance are free to speak, but Yoon will not utter a word.

The vow of silence fulfills a pledge Yoon made after "Agent Kim Reactivated" surpassed a 13 percent viewership rating.

At the drama's press conference on June 25, Yoon said, "Breaking 10 percent would already be a huge hit, but since So Ji-sub is returning to SBS after 13 years, I'll set 13 percent as my goal."

Co-star Joo Sang-wook then suggested, "If it hits 13 percent, how about doing a silent meditation?" Yoon agreed, saying, "Then I'll observe a vow of silence for 13 hours."

"Agent Kim Reactivated" opened to a 9.5 percent viewership rating (Nielsen Korea, nationwide), then jumped to 15.7 percent in its second episode — far exceeding Yoon's target. The series has kept climbing, reaching 18.8 percent in its third episode and 21.6 percent in its fourth.

On Monday, Yoon is scheduled to appear live on SBS Power FM's "Dusi Talchul Keoltusyo" before beginning his 13-hour vow of silence and filming content throughout.

"Agent Kim Reactivated" airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on SBS. Yoon plays Park Jin-cheol, a former secret agent once known as the "God of the Battlefield" who is now a father living only for his daughter.
