The Gwangjin-gu Council (Speaker Ko Yang-seok) completed its organizational setup Monday with the election of standing committee chairs for the first half of the 10th Assembly.
At a plenary session held that day, three committee chairs were elected: Seo Min-woo (electoral district Ra / Jayang 3·4-dong, Hwayangdong) as chair of the Council Operations Committee, Kang Il (electoral district Ga / Junggok 1·2·3·4-dong) as chair of the Planning and Administration Committee, and Kim Gang-san (electoral district Da / Guui 1·3-dong, Jayang 1·2-dong) as chair of the Welfare and Construction Committee.
Alongside this, the assignment of lawmakers to each standing committee was also finalized.
[P 4-5-6] The Council Operations Committee (seven members) comprises lawmakers Jang Ji-eun, Yu Ji-hun, Ko Sang-sun, Kim Gang-san, Seo Min-woo, Kim Eun-hui and Yu Seung-yeon (vice chair). The Planning and Administration Committee (seven members) consists of Kang Il, Jang Ji-eun, Choe Dong-su (vice chair), Shin Jin-ho, Ko Sang-sun, Seo Min-woo and Choe Gyu-cheol. The Welfare and Construction Committee (six members) is made up of Yu Ji-hun, Kim Gang-san, Lee Dong-gil, Choe Sang-gyu, Kim Eun-hui (vice chair) and Yu Seung-yeon.
Through this organizational setup, the Gwangjin-gu Council plans to carry out substantive legislative activities that draw on the specialized expertise of each committee.
The newly elected committee chairs said in their acceptance remarks that they would "work with mutual respect, open communication and a spirit of harmony alongside our sunbae and fellow lawmakers."
The council is set to hold its 293rd extraordinary session on July 16, where it will receive administrative briefings and adopt a plan for the 2026 administrative audit.
