2NE1's Park Bom announces debut as songwriter: 'Oh, what the heck'

Park Bom, a member of K-pop group 2NE1, has announced a new chapter in her career as a songwriter.

On Wednesday, Park wrote on her Instagram: "I am Park Bom. I have decided to also work as a songwriter. Oh, what the heck."

She added that the songs she was posting were entirely her own work. "The melodies I hummed myself, and the lyrics I wrote by hand from my own thoughts," she said. "Please show them lots of love."

Alongside the announcement, Park released an original song titled "A Rainy Day," which appears to have been produced using an AI music platform. She promised to record the track in her own voice and upload it at a later date.

Park also posted several other original compositions on Wednesday, including "Heaven," "A Morning With Nothing" and "The World of Squares and Circles."

Park stepped back from activities last August for health reasons. She then parted ways with her agency, D-Nation Entertainment, last month, ending an eight-year exclusive contract.
