"Agent Kim Reactivated," the SBS drama series that has surpassed a 20 percent domestic rating, has claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix's global chart.
According to Netflix's official global top 10 chart on Tudum, "Agent Kim Reactivated" recorded 10.5 million views — measured as total watch time divided by the show's runtime — for the week of June 29 to July 5, placing it first in the non-English TV show category worldwide.
The series debuted on Netflix on June 26 and shot to No. 3 in the non-English category within three days. It then rode word of mouth to claim the global top spot in its second week. It ranked No. 1 in 11 countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Peru, and landed in the top 10 in 79 countries across continents, including France, Italy, Brazil and Mexico.
The show is a remake based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It follows the "world's most ordinary" father who becomes the "world's most dangerous" man to rescue his only daughter — a revenge action drama starring So Ji-sub, Yoon Kyung-ho and Choi Dae-hoon. The series has drawn audiences with So's portrayal of paternal love, hard-hitting action sequences and the lead cast's comic performances.
The show has also set domestic ratings records. "Agent Kim Reactivated" picked up where "Brave New World" left off — that series closed with a Nielsen Korea nationwide rating of 11.8 percent — opening at 9.5 percent for its first episode. It climbed to 15 percent in episode two, 18.8 percent in episode three and 21.6 percent in episode four. The series crossed the 15 percent threshold in just two episodes and broke the 20 percent barrier by its fourth. That makes it the first drama across all channels to top 20 percent in two years, since tvN's "Queen of Tears" hit 24.9 percent in 2024 — by Nielsen Korea's nationwide paid-household ratings — and the highest-rated drama of this year across all broadcasters.
Meanwhile, the Netflix original series "Teach You a Lesson," which had held the No. 1 spot on the Netflix chart for four consecutive weeks, dropped to second place with 4.7 million views. "Last Row Boy," starring Choi Min-sik and Choi Hyun-wook, ranked fifth with 2.6 million views.
"Agent Kim Reactivated" is a 10-episode series with more story still to come. New episodes air every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
