Korea Credit Guarantee Fund announced Wednesday that it received a commendation from the minister of SMEs and Startups at the 2026 Daegu-North Gyeongsang SME Conference.
The fund was recognized for building and successfully operating a full-cycle support system covering growth assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises, recovery pathways for companies in crisis and re-entry opportunities for those that have failed.
The commendation acknowledged three programs: the Build-Up Program, which helps companies facing temporary difficulties such as falling sales return quickly to normal operations; the Value-Up Program, which supports financially vulnerable companies in preventing insolvency amid compounding crises; and the Re-Challenge Support Program, which helps businesses rebuild after failure.
The fund also plans to provide 300 billion won ($197 million) in special guarantee financing for suppliers affected by the Homeplus situation.
"Going forward, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will become the most reliable partner for small and medium-sized enterprises — not only by supporting their dynamic growth, but also through all-out efforts to create an environment where they can rise again and take on new challenges," said Lee Young-woo, a director at the fund.
