Kia shifts to co-CEO structure with Song Min-su joining Song Ho-sung

Kia is moving from a single-CEO structure under Song Ho-sung to a co-CEO arrangement with Song Ho-sung and Song Min-su each serving as representative director. Song Min-su, a production specialist, is expected to strengthen the company's operational efficiency.

Kia held an extraordinary shareholder meeting Wednesday at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, where shareholders approved the appointment of Executive Vice President Song Min-su as an inside director. Song will serve as co-CEO alongside President Song Ho-sung.

Song Min-su is regarded as a production specialist with expertise in on-site manufacturing optimization. He served as plant manager of Kia's AutoLand Hwaseong factory from 2022 through this year, and previously headed Kia's labor relations support division in 2020 and 2021.

Song has also been serving concurrently as Kia's head of domestic production and chief safety officer since May, after former Kia President Choi Jun-young moved to a policy development role at Hyundai Motor Group.

Under the new co-CEO structure, President Song Ho-sung is expected to oversee global business and long-term strategy, while Executive Vice President Song Min-su will handle production and safety management.
