Actor Yoon Se-ah donates W8.15m to descendants of independence fighters

Actor Yoon Se-ah has donated 8.15 million won ($5,500) to support descendants of independence fighters.

On Friday, Yoon shared the donation on her Instagram, revealing she had contributed 8.15 million won to Korea Habitat for Humanity for a residential improvement project benefiting descendants of independence fighters. A photo she posted showed the sponsorship certificate, which stated that the funds would be used to create comfortable homes for housing-vulnerable families and deliver hope.

Yoon made the donation ahead of the 815 Run, a charity running event held annually to mark the spirit of Liberation Day on Aug. 15.

"I cannot forget the emotion and the deep resonance in my heart from the day I joined the 815 Run," she wrote. "I send my warmest applause and support to everyone who will share that moving moment again this year."

She added: "I will fill the heavy heart of not being able to run alongside you with things I can contribute from where I am. 2026. 815! Fighting!"

Yoon made her debut in the 2005 film "Blood Rain" and went on to build her profile through drama series including "Lovers in Prague," "City Hall" and "A Gentleman's Dignity."
