Actor Yun Mi-ra, 74 and single, told by fortune teller she was 'never meant to marry'

Actor Yun Mi-ra, 74 and never married, has shared that a fortune teller told her she was destined never to wed.

A video titled "If you could know the date of your death, what would you start preparing for now?" was posted Thursday on Yun's YouTube channel.

In the video, Yun visits a fortune teller and opens up about her life. "I never married, so I have no children and no husband," she said. "I don't think I need to live that long."

The fortune teller said her birth chart showed no sign of a marriageable fate. "You are someone who absolutely should not marry," the fortune teller said, and went on to say that her destiny was to live alone and shoulder responsibility for her parents and siblings as head of the household. "If you had lived with a husband and children, you would have had to take care of them — playing the role of husband, breadwinner and father all at once. Not getting married was the best move you ever made."

Yun said she had never particularly wanted to get married, but asked whether that meant her fate was simply a difficult one. "As I get older, I think it would be nice to have someone to spend time with, like a friend," she said. "I feel a little lonely in my later years. Everyone else got married at least once, and I never did." Her words carried a note of wistfulness.

The fortune teller cautioned against acting on that loneliness, however. "If you seek out a companion driven by loneliness, that person will only bring you headaches," the fortune teller said. "The best thing for you is having no one by your side. You are at your best when you are not tied to anyone."
