Hanssem (CEO Kim Yu-jin) has launched a new multipurpose "Bisque Natural Ceramic Dining Table Set" designed for dining, work and other home activities.
The product features a 12mm solid ceramic top in a calm off-white tone paired with a warm, neutral wood-toned base. The ceramic top passed quality tests at Hanssem's research center and shows no deformation even when a pot heated to 150 degrees Celsius is left on it for 20 minutes, the company said. It also passed a heavy steel ball impact test, demonstrating high durability. Kimchi broth and soy sauce stains can be wiped off easily within 24 hours, the company added.
To address the resonance noise long cited as a drawback of ceramic dining tables, the product uses a solid wood base panel that supports the entire top surface on a one-to-one basis. The base prevents the top from warping under weight and absorbs impact to reduce noise, the company said. Anti-slip silicone has also been added to keep the top from sliding, it added.
The new product comes in three shapes — rectangular, oval and round — with curved corner finishes for added safety. The rectangular and oval versions seat four people for everyday use and can expand to accommodate up to six guests when needed, Hanssem said.
The "Bisque Chair" included in the set features an ergonomically curved backrest that gently supports the lower back, along with steel legs for a stable, wobble-free feel. The seat cushion uses medium-hard sponge for a firm, comfortable sit.
"Dining spaces have recently expanded beyond meals to serve as home offices for work and hobbies," Hanssem said. "In line with this trend, we are introducing a new product that combines practical ceramic with the warmth of natural wood."
