Korean American Kim Chan sits third after round 3 of Isco Championship

Korean American golfer Kim Chan moved into a tie for third place in the third round of the PGA Tour's Isco Championship, keeping himself in contention for the $4 million event.

Kim carded four birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under-par 68 on Sunday at Hurstbourne Country Club (par 70) in Louisville, Kentucky.

With a 54-hole total of 13-under-par 197, Kim trails leader Lucas Glover — who sits at 15-under-par 195 — by two strokes as he continues his bid for a first PGA Tour victory.

Before this week's event, Kim had played in eight tournaments this year without finishing inside the top 20 in any of them.

Kim made a difficult start, dropping shots on consecutive holes — Nos. 3 and 4 — before steadying himself with birdies on the par-5 seventh and par-3 ninth. He then added birdies on the par-5 10th and par-4 18th to stay in the hunt.

Ko Jeong-won, a French-Korean golfer who had shared fourth place through two rounds, slipped to a tie for 18th after posting a 1-over-par 71 — three birdies offset by four bogeys — leaving him at 9-under-par 201 for the tournament.

Meanwhile, the third round of the PGA Tour's Genesis Scotland Open ($9 million purse) at Renaissance Club (par 70) in North Berwick, Scotland, was postponed due to thick fog.

Kim Joo-hyung, who had shared the lead through two rounds, returned to the clubhouse without making a birdie through seven holes in the suspended third round. He remains at 9-under-par and has dropped to a tie for ninth, two strokes off the lead.
