Actor Bang Eun-hee reveals mother died alone, found two days later: 'I couldn't bring myself to sort through her belongings'

Actor Bang Eun-hee has opened up about discovering her mother's sudden death two days after it occurred, and about calling in a specialized cleaning company because she could not bring herself to sort through her mother's belongings.

A video featuring actors Jang Yong and Bang Eun-hee was posted to the YouTube channel "Im Ha-ryong Show" on Friday.

In the video, the two discussed their upcoming stage play "Dajeonghan Baeeung," a human black comedy set against the backdrop of a specialized cleaning company that handles the aftermath of accidental deaths and solitary deaths — sorting through the belongings of the deceased while tracing the lives of those left behind.

While describing the production, Bang shared a personal experience that mirrored the play's themes.

"Both of my parents have passed away, but my mother died in a way that was truly unbelievable — so sudden," she said. "My situation at the time wasn't good, and I hadn't been able to see her for a year. I had told her I would visit soon, and she passed away in the meantime."

Bang then said her mother was found two days after she died. "I couldn't sort through her belongings myself, so I reached out to a specialized cleaning company and asked for their help," she said.

She added that she had witnessed firsthand how hard the people in that line of work strive. "I truly respect them," she said, expressing her gratitude.

Meanwhile, Bang married voice actor Seong Wan-gyeong in 2000 and gave birth to a son, Dumin, in 2002, before divorcing in 2003. She later married Kim Nam-hee, head of NH EMG and a prominent entertainment producer, in September 2010, but divorced again in 2019.

Bang made her debut as a stage actor in 1988 and has since moved between film and television, appearing in the films "General's Son" and "No. 3," as well as the KBS 2TV drama series "God of Study" and "Dear My Parents."
