Man kills acquaintance with knife in Seoul alley, arrested within 30 minutes

A man in his 60s was arrested Sunday after fatally stabbing an acquaintance in an alley in Seoul's Guro-gu.

The Guro Police Station said it arrested the suspect, identified only as A, and is investigating him on murder charges.

A is accused of stabbing another man in his 60s, identified as B, with a knife at around 7 a.m. Sunday in Guro-gu.

B was rushed to a hospital but ultimately died from his injuries.

Police had initially arrested A on attempted murder charges, but upgraded the charge to murder after the victim died.

"We plan to review whether to seek an arrest warrant after completing the investigation," a police official said.
