The Hanminjok Hapkido Martial Arts Association, led by Chairman Seo Seong-il, successfully held the first session of the "2026 Grand Master Seo In-seon Original Preservation National Tour Training — Deep Water: Art of Hanminjok Hapkido" in Daegu on Saturday at the Yulha Hapkido Techno Center in Daegu.
The Original Preservation Society of Hanminjok Hapkido is an organization dedicated to the systematic and ongoing preservation and transmission of Grand Master Seo In-seon's original techniques.
That day, Chairman Seo personally taught 50 members the representative forms and self-defense techniques — drawn from the hapkido techniques created by Grand Master Seo In-seon — in a manner faithful to their original form.
"Through this kind of training, we must develop talented individuals and leaders who will carry the association and hapkido forward — only then can the future of both remain bright," Seo said.
Following the Daegu session, the 2026 national tour will continue with stops in Busan on Aug. 9, Gwangju in Gyeonggi Province on Aug. 22, Donghae in Gangwon Province on Oct. 17, and Gimhae in South Gyeongsang Province on Nov. 28.
The instructors for the Original Preservation Training were led by Chairman Seo Seong-il and included Noh Seong-seok of Yeseung Chongbongwan, General Director Jeon Seong-uk, Managing Director An Gwang-hui, Lee Byeong-tae of Heukchu Gwan, Kang Gyeong-dae of Gangho Hapkido, Kim Hyeon-su of Yulha Techno Gwan, Lee Jae-yeong of Donghaebiyong Gymnasium, Hwang Mun-su of Jeongui Hapkido, and Kang Gyeong-ho of Gangho Hapkido.
