Neymar spotted at poker table after Brazil's World Cup exit

Brazilian soccer star Neymar has been spotted enjoying his time in the United States after Brazil's round-of-16 exit at the 2026 North and Central America World Cup.

According to Yahoo Sports and other outlets, organizers announced Saturday that Neymar would participate in a Texas Hold'em event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

WSOP said on social media that Neymar had gone "straight from the football pitch to the poker table," adding that he had come to WSOP after finishing his World Cup schedule to compete in the $10,000 six-max event.

The tournament runs through Wednesday in Las Vegas, and the event Neymar is entering is a standard Texas Hold'em format with a maximum of six players per table.

Sightings of Neymar have already been circulating on social media.

One social media post captured Neymar sitting at a table in a black cap and gray hoodie, and showed him raking in chips.

Brazil were eliminated from the tournament after losing 2-1 to Norway in the round of 16 on July 5. Neymar, for whom the match was in effect his final World Cup appearance, sank to the ground after the final whistle and wept. He later said, "I really tried. It's over now. It started here and it ended here," announcing his retirement from the national team.

He subsequently traveled to Orlando, Florida, where he was spotted enjoying himself at a theme park and seen riding around in an electric vehicle. Surrounded by security guards, he flashed a thumbs-up to fans as he walked by.
