Woori Bank said Monday it has launched a small-sum installment investment service called "Fund Moeugi" to help first-time investors and the MZ generation build sound investment habits without financial pressure.
The service sets the minimum subscription amount at 5,000 won, low enough for college students or young professionals to start investing for the price of a cup of coffee. Customers can also set their investment frequency — daily, weekly or monthly — to fit their lifestyle, making it well suited for consistently building assets in small increments, the bank said.
Woori Bank has prepared tailored guides to help beginners start with quality products that match their risk profile. The guides fall into three categories: "Expert Best," curated to reflect current market conditions; "Fund Moeugi Best," a collection of the most popular products; and "Return Best," products with a proven track record of strong performance.
The bank also said it has redesigned the fund subscription process to significantly cut the time customers spend signing up.
Woori Bank last month launched the "Woori Youth Future Savings" account targeting young customers, offering an annual interest rate of up to 8 percent on deposits of up to 500,000 won ($332) per month.
"The 'Fund Moeugi' service was designed with first-time investors in mind to break the misconception that investing requires a lot of money or that it is complicated and hard to sign up for," a Woori Bank official said. "We will continue to enhance our digital asset management services to better meet the needs of our customers."
