Gwangmyeong expands home medical visit services with new MOUs

Gwangmyeong City announced Monday it will expand its home medical visit services.

The city signed MOUs with five medical institutions at the Gwangmyeong Public Health Center on Monday, partnering with a long-term care home medical center and clinics in the visiting care physician program to strengthen a community-centered care system jointly operated by the health center and local medical providers.

The participating institutions include Ye Clinic, Nuga Gwangmyeong Clinic and Gwangmyeong Korean Medicine Clinic — all pilot program operators for the long-term care home medical center — as well as Sungmo-gil Internal Medicine Clinic and Kim Ok-ran Internal Medicine Clinic, which take part in the visiting care physician program.

Under the agreements, Gwangmyeong City and the participating institutions will provide integrated home medical services combining house-call consultations, health management, nursing services and community care.

The city will also strengthen its cooperative framework so that residents with mobility difficulties or ongoing health needs can receive both medical care and support services in familiar surroundings at home.

The number of pilot program operators for the long-term care home medical center grew from one to three in June, expanding access to home-based medical care for long-term care recipients and raising expectations that medical accessibility for residents with mobility difficulties will improve further.
