The Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, known as HUG, held a new vision and innovation ceremony at its Busan headquarters on Monday, announcing its vision to become "a public platform for housing supply and residential finance that comprehensively supports the residential stability of the public."
According to HUG, the ceremony was organized to share the newly established vision and direction for innovation — reflecting the rapidly changing policy and market environment, the new government's state agenda and the incoming president's management philosophy — and to reaffirm the organization-wide commitment to delivering policy outcomes that the public can tangibly feel.
The event was attended by President Choi In-ho, senior management and employees from headquarters and branch offices nationwide. The program proceeded in the following order: a progress report on the new vision and medium-to-long-term management strategy; an introduction of the vision and innovation framework; a vision and innovation pledge by the president and employees; a declaration by employee representatives; and the second organization-wide management strategy conference.
HUG undertook a comprehensive overhaul of its management strategy to respond to shifts in the policy environment and housing market conditions since its previous medium-to-long-term strategy was established in January 2024, as well as to address the AI-driven digital transformation.
The new value framework was developed with input from all employees and a range of stakeholders. HUG adopted as its mission "contributing to improving the quality of life of the public through financial support and policy projects aimed at residential stability and the revitalization of housing supply," and confirmed as its new vision "a leader in housing supply and residential finance responsible for the residential stability of the public."
The corporation also redefined its core values as customer satisfaction, responsibility, communication and innovation, and set four strategic directions: realizing a seamless residential safety net, leading the revitalization of housing supply, expanding ESG (environmental, social and governance) management, and transitioning to future-oriented management based on AI transformation.
In addition, HUG set three management principles for its president — public impact, field communication and future innovation — as part of its push to become a public platform for housing supply and residential finance. The corporation plans to pursue policies centered on the public and the field while continuing to drive future innovation.
The "2026 Integrated Innovation Agenda," also announced Tuesday, was prepared as an action strategy to fundamentally reform the organization and create changes that the public can feel.
The innovation agenda was finalized after gathering ideas through integrity roundtables chaired directly by the president, customer forums, and open communication channels with the public and businesses, followed by consultation with external experts and input from all employees.
"The new vision proclaimed today is not a mere declaration but a commitment that reflects the role the public expects of HUG and the responsibilities we must carry into the future," President Choi said. "When all employees share the same goals and direction and put them into practice in their daily work, the vision will become reality and the public's trust will grow."
