Lotte World Adventure is teaming up with local lifestyle community app Karrot to host an unusual late-night event in which participants must escape the darkened theme park on a midsummer night. Only 10 people will be selected.
Lotte World Adventure announced it is recruiting participants for the special event — called the "Late-Night Lotte World Escape Gathering" — through Karrot's "Karrot Gathering" service. The program uses the theme park's spaces after closing hours to offer a mission-based experience.
The 10 selected participants must complete a series of story-driven missions and escape Lotte World between 10 p.m. on July 27 and 1 a.m. the following morning. Participants will be organized into five teams of two.
The program is tied to Lotte World Adventure's summer season festival "봉인해제: Goblin Uproar," a K-horror-themed event that has been running since June 26. During the exploration, participants must move between designated locations to find clues while avoiding monsters that appear in keeping with the K-horror concept.
Applications are open until 6 p.m. Wednesday through the Gatherings menu in the Community tab of the Karrot app. Interested participants can search for the "Late-Night Lotte World Escape Gathering," join the group, and post an application on the free board tagging a friend they want to bring. Applications are accepted only in pairs. Karrot will select five teams based on their submissions and notify winners individually on Thursday.
All participants will receive a Lotte World Adventure annual pass and summer season merchandise, along with a 50,000-won ($34) transportation allowance paid in Karrot Money after the event. Applicants not selected as finalists will be entered into a separate draw, with 20 winners receiving complimentary tickets to Lotte World Adventure. Meanwhile, Lotte World Adventure will continue running its K-horror-themed summer season festival through Aug. 30. The festival has transformed the first-floor plaza of the Adventure zone into a monster village, offering experience zones, new performances, and special photo opportunities with the park's mascots Lotty and Lorry.
