Zigzag, a style commerce platform operated by Kakao Style, said Thursday that transaction volumes at 40 stores participating in its Level Up Program — designed to support the growth of small and mid-sized shopping malls — rose by as much as eightfold.
The program provides advertising education, product sourcing guides and one-on-one consulting from dedicated merchandise directors to malls experiencing stalled growth. Average monthly transactions at stores that joined between March and June climbed 110 percent in June compared with February, the month before the program began. One in four participating stores achieved monthly transactions of 100 million won ($67,000).
Among individual stores, Forming Muse posted the highest growth, with transactions surging 741 percent. Lit Studio (565 percent), Rubichi (164 percent) and Soytale (131 percent) also recorded double-digit-or-higher gains.
"Based on the first-round results, we have selected 40 participants and are now running the second round," a Zigzag official said. "We plan to operate the program on a regular basis so that more small and mid-sized shopping malls can benefit from growth opportunities."
