Ansan gears up for 2026 e-sports festival

Ansan city officials held a working-group meeting Wednesday at the city hall situation room to coordinate preparations for the 2026 Ansan E-Sports Festival, scheduled for Aug. 29, the city announced Thursday.

Staff from the city's youth policy office, the Sangnok Youth Training Center, the Danwon Youth Training Center and the Ansan School E-Sports Support Group attended the session, sharing operational plans and reviewing each organization's responsibilities and coordination framework.

Participants also discussed ways to boost youth involvement and strengthen ties among partner agencies, exchanging on-site feedback and mapping out cooperation measures to raise the event's quality and public participation.

Ansan plans to deepen collaboration with partner agencies through the working group as it builds what it hopes will become the city's signature e-sports festival — one open to all residents.

"E-sports is the culture of the next generation and an industry with strong growth potential," Mayor Lee Min-geun said. "We will work closely with the working group to successfully stage Ansan's signature e-sports festival, one that citizens and young people can enjoy together."

Registration for the 2026 Ansan E-Sports Festival is currently open.
