Jin Air, Air Busan and Air Seoul hold joint summer charity drive

Jin Air announced Thursday that it joined forces with Air Busan and Air Seoul on Wednesday for a summer community outreach event, donating cooling blankets to local residents.

The event was organized to help residents of Gangseo-gu cope with the ongoing heat wave, protecting them from heat-related illness and supporting a more comfortable daily life.

Employees from all three airlines gathered at Deungchon 7 Community Welfare Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where they attached labels to the cooling blankets and wrote personal notes. They then visited households of heat-vulnerable residents, delivering the blankets and exchanging warm greetings to brighten their daily lives.

Meanwhile, Jin Air will visit Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital on Thursday to install a traveling forest exhibition and carry out disinfection work in treatment rooms. Employees plan to display 17 nature photographs — co-curated with the National Institute of Forest Science — at the library entrance on the first floor for two weeks, after which they will disinfect key treatment rooms to help create a safe and comfortable environment for the children.

"We hope our neighbors who must endure the summer heat in difficult living conditions stay healthy this season," a Jin Air official said. "We will continue to pool our efforts and carry out a range of activities to provide meaningful support to those in need."

The three low-cost carriers — Jin Air, Air Busan and Air Seoul — plan to launch a combined entity centered on Jin Air, in tandem with the merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
