'Naneun Solo' Season 28 divorced cast members hit by lawsuits, bankruptcy and divorce rumors

Cast members from the divorced-singles special of "Naneun Solo," a TV dating reality show, Season 28 have been making headlines for a string of unflattering developments.

Sunja, one of the Season 28 participants, said Wednesday on social media that she had received complaints in both a criminal and a civil lawsuit.

She did not identify who filed the suits, but speculation has pointed to Mr. Kim, a cast member from "Naneun Solo, Geu Hu Sarangeun Gyesokdoenda," a dating reality spinoff.

The two began dating after meeting outside the show but broke up not long after. During the fallout, both made public accusations without naming each other directly. Mr. Kim later posted a photo of himself visiting a police station and confirmed he had retained a lawyer and filed a complaint.

"Do you know what the first thing that crossed my mind was when I received two complaints — one criminal, one civil — at the same time?" Sunja wrote. "It was: 'I could be doing so much more for my son with this money — do I really have to spend it on this?'" She added that she had been attending psychiatric treatment "for the sake of my mental health."

Fellow Season 28 participants Yeongja and Yeongcheol have been swept up in rumors of discord and divorce just six months after their wedding.

The rumors began after all photos of Yeongcheol disappeared from Yeongja's social media. She had been regularly posting pictures of their life together until recently, prompting speculation about what had changed. However, photos of Yeongja remain on Yeongcheol's social media.

Online commenters have also been revisiting concerns the couple shared when they appeared on tvN STORY's "Lee Ho-seon Sangdamso," a counseling-themed TV program, last March.

At the time, the couple said "the path to marriage had not been easy," describing a relationship marked by repeated breakups and reconciliations from the very start.

Yeongcheol said their arguments stemmed "less from issues between the two of us and more from outside scrutiny." Yeongja said she had felt anxious and worn down by malicious comments and rumors of Yeongcheol's infidelity following the broadcast of "Naneun Solo," and revealed she had even checked his divorce mediation documents. The couple also said they had struggled with wounds from previous marriages and financial difficulties.

Yeongsu, another Season 28 cast member, made news last month when Medipresso, a traditional tea manufacturing company he had run with 7 billion won ($4.7 million) in investment, went bankrupt.

"I am in the process of liquidating what little personal assets I have left in order to fulfill my responsibilities to the end," Yeongsu said. "Even if I end up with nothing, I am doing my best to minimize the damage to those around me, but I can only apologize to those who have been hurt against my intentions."
