LG CNS joins government push to train 10,000 AI engineers

LG CNS said Tuesday it will launch a hands-on AI transformation, or AX, training program for job seekers in the AI sector as part of a government-led talent development initiative.

The company has been selected as a training institution for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's K-Digital Training AI Campus program and will begin its curriculum Tuesday. The KDT AI Campus is a large-scale, industry-linked talent development program aimed at training 10,000 AI engineers, with the government committing 130 billion won ($87.6 million) to the effort.

The program targets job seekers in the AI field and covers all tuition costs. An agentic AI service developer track teaches participants how to build AI services that carry out enterprise business tasks, while an AI data engineer track focuses on techniques for connecting data scattered across a company into a form that AI can understand and use.

LG CNS will run two tracks in sequence: an MCP (Model Context Protocol)-based 'agentic AI service developer course' and a knowledge graph-based 'AI data engineer course.' Participants will go beyond basic theory and build practical skills applicable in real industry settings through project-centered hands-on training. Applications can be submitted through the Goyong24 portal and the LG CNS AI Campus website.

LG CNS AI specialists will serve as mentors in each track, sharing practical know-how and providing close support to help participants develop problem-solving skills.

The agentic AI service developer course builds participants' ability to implement enterprise-grade agentic AI services using technologies such as MCP, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) and LLM (large language model) to connect AI models with various business systems.

The AI data engineer course teaches participants how to build and integrate corporate data so AI can use it effectively, applying knowledge graph technology that maps relationships between data points. A knowledge graph is a data model that structures relationships between pieces of information as a graph of nodes and edges, enabling computers to understand and reason over the data.

Alongside training future talent through the AI Campus, LG CNS is expanding its B2B AX education offerings for corporate customers. The company provides job-specific AX training tailored to each organization's level of AI adoption, serving clients including LG Group affiliates, NICE Information Service and the Korea Federation of SMEs.

LG CNS has also partnered with global learning platform Udemy to offer more than 35,000 courses from its global content library.
