LinkedIn special award, TikTok, newsroom honors also secured
Instagram interactions surge 528% amid social media overhaul
LG Uplus announced Friday that it won four categories at the Social i Awards 2026, including the top Instagram prize and a LinkedIn special award.
The Social i Awards is a leading domestic online service competition in which internet professionals select outstanding examples of internet branding, information services and digital content on social media platforms. It is hosted by the Korea Internet Professionals Association (KIPFA) and organized by the iAwards Committee.
LG Uplus took home four awards at this year's ceremony: the top Instagram prize, the KIPFA LinkedIn special award, the TikTok information services award and the newsroom communications award. The company claimed four awards for the second consecutive year, achieving what it described as its best-ever results at the competition.
Having received the innovation award in 2024 and the integrated award in 2025, LG Uplus this year claimed the top award for the first time, consistently raising its rating tier. The results reflected a channel-specific strategy that moved beyond simple information delivery — focusing on customer engagement on Instagram, AI transformation and technology expertise on LinkedIn, outreach to younger users on TikTok, and brand and technology information on its newsroom.
The wins were credited to a sweeping overhaul of LG Uplus's social media channels around customer experience, built on the brand slogan "Simply. U+" that the company has pursued since last year. LG Uplus developed content strategies tailored to each channel's characteristics and concentrated on connecting its brand message naturally with customers' everyday lives.
On Instagram, the company strengthened magazine-style feeds and interactive content in line with its brand renewal. Total content interactions rose 528 percent year on year, and content tied to brand campaigns expanded customer touchpoints, earning the platform's top award.
On LinkedIn, LG Uplus restructured its channel around AI transformation and technology leadership content. A newsletter-style content format and enhanced technology-focused posts drove average interactions up 331 percent year on year, earning the KIPFA special award.
On TikTok, the company expanded short-form content and creator collaborations to broaden its reach among younger users. On its newsroom, LG Uplus strengthened brand stories and AI and technology content while improving the user experience to expand its role as a brand content hub. Newsroom visitors rose 513 percent year on year and page views climbed 280 percent.
"This award is the result of consistently presenting content that customers can relate to and participate in," said Kim Hee-jin, head of LG Uplus's brand marketing team. "We will continue to expand brand experiences from the customer's perspective and maintain differentiated communication across diverse digital channels."
