Singer Bibi's bold Waterbomb stage stirs controversy

Singer Bibi is drawing controversy over a provocative performance at the recent Waterbomb festival.

Bibi took the stage at Waterbomb Seoul 2026 on Saturday at the outdoor Global Stage of Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, wearing a form-fitting white jumpsuit for a daring set.

During the performance, while delivering a string of hit songs including "Bam Yanggang" and "Naebeun X," Bibi dropped to her knees among male dancers and slowly unzipped her rain-soaked jumpsuit to reveal a bikini top. Shirtless male dancers then closed in around her.

Kneeling among them as she was handed a microphone, Bibi drew the crowd's full attention with the bold staging.

The crowd's energy surged, and some audience members praised the set, calling it "the stage that fits Waterbomb best" and lauding her "outstanding command of the stage."

Others, however, were sharply critical. "The moves are too explicit," some said, while others called the performance "lewd" and "embarrassing to watch," and said she "crossed a line." One comment read: "I can't tell if this is Waterbomb or a strip show."
