The Ministry of Employment and Labor is publishing a comprehensive youth policy guide titled "Easy-to-Understand Youth Policies.zip" to help young people better understand and use government support programs. The guide consolidates scattered youth support information into a single volume and includes QR codes that link directly to application pages.
The ministry announced Tuesday that it will begin distributing the guide both online and in print starting Wednesday, targeting young people preparing to enter the workforce or taking their first steps in society.
The guide covers a wide range of policies young people need to know, including job support programs, labor and occupational safety basics, work-life balance schemes, the Youth New Deal initiative, and residential, education, financial and welfare support. Each policy entry features a QR code linking directly to the relevant website, making it easier for readers to complete an application.
The guide was produced with input from social enterprise Sosahan Sotong and youth advisers at the ministry, and uses plain language and a layout accessible to young people. It was also designed with those who have limited access to information in mind.
The guide is available online through the ministry's website, the Employment24 portal and the Ontong Cheongnyeon platform, and will be placed at youth centers, public libraries and Chosim study cafes nationwide. The government expects young people to encounter and use the policy information naturally while preparing for employment.
"Delivering the right information to young people at the moment they need it is just as important as creating good policies," Employment and Labor Minister Kim Young-hoon said. "We will continue to pursue a range of outreach activities through this guide so that young people can easily access job policies and translate that into actual participation."
