Huons Meditech, the medical device arm of Huons Group, said Wednesday it has secured a final court ruling in its favor against a Chinese company that infringed the trademark of its flagship aesthetic brand, Dermasshine, in the Chinese market.
Huons Meditech confirmed that a local firm, Hebei Feijia Precision Instruments Co., had been selling counterfeit products under the unauthorized "Dermasshine" and "Dermasshine Max" trademarks. The company filed a trademark infringement lawsuit on July 1, 2025, at the People's Court of Anci District, Langfang City, in China's Hebei Province.
The court ruled in favor of Huons Meditech on June 18. With the defendant's one-month appeal window having elapsed, the ruling took full legal effect on July 18.
Under the ruling, the defendant must immediately cease all trademark-infringing activities and stop using identical or similar marks. It must also destroy and remove all counterfeit products in circulation, along with display stands, packaging boxes and related promotional materials, and pay Huons Meditech's rights-protection costs within 10 days of the ruling taking effect.
The verdict carries particular significance amid a surge in illegal counterfeit distribution exploiting the popularity of South Korean aesthetic medical devices in China. By having a Chinese court recognize the intellectual property rights of a Korean medical device brand, Huons Meditech has secured a strong legal foothold for future crackdowns on counterfeits and efforts to recover market share.
Building on the win, Huons Meditech plans to pursue additional lawsuits against the numerous companies distributing counterfeit Dermasshine and "Multineedle" products, while working to restore order in the Chinese market by asserting the value of its genuine brand.
"This victory is a meaningful outcome in which a Chinese court has recognized the unique intellectual property rights and value of the Dermasshine brand," Ha Chang-woo, chief executive of Huons Meditech, said. "We will respond firmly to illegal acts that steal our technology and brand, and spare no effort in protecting our intellectual property so that customers around the world can use genuine products with confidence."
