Zeekr sales jump 111% year-on-year, driving group's momentum
Exports outside China surge 202% to monthly record
Geely Auto Group, the parent company of Zeekr, said Thursday it sold 250,161 vehicles globally in July, marking five consecutive months of year-on-year and month-on-month growth. Zeekr led the group's expansion.
The group's July sales rose 5 percent from the same period last year.
By brand, Geely Auto sold 197,942 units, Zeekr sold 35,837 and Lynk & Co sold 16,382. Zeekr's July sales jumped 111 percent year-on-year. Combined new energy vehicle sales across the three brands reached 160,165 units, up 23 percent from a year earlier.
The group also extended its momentum in global markets. Sales outside China hit a monthly record of 106,663 units in July, with exports surging 202 percent year-on-year. NEV exports reached 62,604 units — a 616 percent jump from the same period last year — accounting for 59 percent of total July exports.
Zeekr continued to strengthen its position as a luxury and premium brand. During the first half of the year, it ranked as the top premium battery electric vehicle brand in both Australia and Malaysia.
Alongside the sales announcement, Geely Auto Group said it plans to establish the 2030 Lab, a long-term research initiative to support the group's future intelligent mobility strategy.
Built on the group's full-domain AI strategy, the 2030 Lab will focus on multiple fields including acoustics, optics, automotive safety, power semiconductors, digital chassis, embodied intelligence, data science, large language models and AI agents. The lab aims to accelerate technology development and sharpen the competitiveness of the intelligent vehicle experience.
On the product side, Geely Auto Group plans to advance the electrification of its internal combustion engine lineup through hybrid technology. The group is also preparing to introduce a next-generation methanol hybrid system that allows methanol and gasoline to be blended in any ratio within a single fuel tank. Two new models featuring the technology are set to launch soon.
"Driven by the surge in Zeekr's global sales and other factors, Geely Auto Group has maintained a steady upward trajectory in global markets since March," a group spokesperson said. "To sustain this momentum and prepare for an increasingly competitive future mobility era, we are announcing the new 2030 Lab initiative."
Meanwhile, all three brands — Geely, Zeekr and Lynk & Co — plan to participate in the Paris Motor Show 2026, which opens Oct. 12. The group will use the event to showcase its global brand portfolio, advanced technologies and progress in its ongoing international expansion.
Geely Auto Group has also been actively building its technological capabilities, recently launching Geely Technology Europe to consolidate its European research and development operations.
