Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae attended the opening ceremony Thursday for the newly relocated Ichon Police Service Center inside Kkumnamu Park (301-86 Ichon-dong), marking a fresh start in strengthening public safety in the district.
The new Ichon Police Service Center spans a total floor area of 137.47 square meters across two above-ground floors. The ceremony was attended by Kim, National Assembly lawmaker Kwon Young-se, Yongsan Police Station chief Choi Jong-yun, the Han River Road district unit commander and local residents. The event included a progress report on the relocation, a ribbon-cutting and commemorative photos.
The center will serve as a community policing hub, with a center chief on duty at all times and two patrol vehicles operating around the clock. It will provide lifestyle-focused police services — including resident consultations, crime-prevention activities and regular patrols — to help keep the neighborhood safe.
"I hope the newly relocated Ichon Police Service Center becomes a reliable safety anchor where residents can go about their daily lives with greater peace of mind," Kim said. "Yongsan-gu will work closely with police to do our utmost to build a safe and livable city."
