Nexen Tire announced Friday it will hold Round 3 of the Nexen Tire Speedway Motor Festival on Saturday at Everland Speedway in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, co-hosted with Everland to deepen customer engagement and strengthen brand experience.
Now in its fourth year since debuting in 2023, the festival goes beyond spectator motorsport. It is Nexen Tire's flagship annual customer participation project, designed to let consumers experience the company's product performance and brand values firsthand.
Round 3 is the midsummer edition of the five-round annual series and will run as a "Night Festival," with drivers taking to the circuit after dark. The format aims to offer a cool, dynamic alternative for spectators and drivers braving the ongoing heat and tropical nights.
As in previous rounds, the event will feature amateur drivers competing in target trial and gymkhana classes — both sanctioned by the Korea Automobile Racing Association (KARA) — under nighttime conditions. Participants will also receive driving instruction from professional instructors along with tire safety management tips.
Spectators will have plenty to do as well. Five "circuit, gymkhana and off-road taxi" rides let visitors ride along with a professional driver through the track and off-road course. Rounding out the event are a "Car Meet" display celebrating automotive culture popular among people in their 20s and 30s, a play zone, food trucks and a free shuttle bus connecting the venue to the Samsung Mobility Museum.
"We supply original-equipment tires to global premium automakers including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche and Audi, and this event gives customers a chance to verify that proven performance in the most demanding environment possible — a racing circuit," a Nexen Tire official said. "We will continue developing experiential marketing initiatives that let customers enjoy our technology and brand value on-site, while also helping grow the broader motorsport community."
All five rounds of the Nexen Tire Speedway Motor Festival are free to attend with no advance ticket reservation required. The series continues with Round 4 on Sept. 6 and Round 5 on Oct. 9.
Meanwhile, Nexen Tire has been stepping up efforts to strengthen its global sales, retail and logistics competitiveness, including a recent renovation of a large brand shop in the Sri Petaling area of southern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
