Seoul's Gangbuk-gu district will host the 11th Gangbuk-gu Celebrity Lecture Series on Sept. 30 at Sonamuhol Hall in the Gangbuk Arts and Culture Center, featuring former Constitutional Court Justice Moon Hyung-bae as the guest speaker.
The lecture series was organized to foster dialogue on the values of goodwill and consideration, promote civic maturity, and spread a culture of trust and cooperation within the community.
Moon currently serves as a visiting distinguished professor at KAIST's Graduate School of Future Strategy, having previously served as a Constitutional Court justice. He has consistently shared insights on the values society should pursue and the spirit of community, drawing on his deep understanding of constitutional law, human rights and justice.
His lecture, titled "A Virtuous Cycle of Goodwill Can Change the World," will convey the message that small acts of consideration and goodwill toward one another can become a powerful force for social change, illustrated through a range of real-world examples.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Sonamuhol Hall in the Gangbuk Arts and Culture Center. Up to 520 Gangbuk-gu residents and others may attend. Registration opens Monday at 9 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis through the integrated reservation system on the Gangbuk-gu website.
"I hope this lecture will be a meaningful occasion for residents to reflect on the positive changes that everyday acts of goodwill and consideration can bring about," district mayor Jeong Chang-su said. "We will continue to invite distinguished figures from a wide range of fields to create opportunities for dialogue with our residents."
