Blackpink's Jisoo apologizes to fans over 10th anniversary controversy

Blackpink member Jisoo has personally apologized to fans amid criticism that the group's 10th anniversary event showed disregard for its fandom.

On Saturday, Jisoo posted a message to fans through a fan communication platform, writing that the anniversary felt like "a day filled with regret."

"Before I knew it, 10 years had passed since Blackpink debuted," she said. "Over those 10 years, a lot happened — as Blackpink and as Jisoo — but I always wanted to show only my best side and be someone who brings happiness in difficult moments."

She added that her heart felt heavy seeing so many Blinks — the name for Blackpink's fandom — upset. "I wanted to say that I haven't forgotten that it's Blink who made Blackpink shine this brightly," she said.

Jisoo then offered a direct apology. "Thank you for celebrating our 10th anniversary, and I'm sorry again for causing such deep disappointment," she said.

"I always want to say thank you and that I love you," she added. "Your hearts may be hurting, but I hope there's still a small space left for my sincerity."

The backlash began after YG Entertainment announced the 10th anniversary event just two days in advance and said only 40 paid subscribers to a fan platform would be invited, drawing widespread criticism of fan mistreatment. The controversy deepened when the initial announcement did not clearly state whether all four members would attend. It was later confirmed that all four — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa — would be present.
