Skull & Haha to donate full performance fee amid Miryang drought controversy

The duo Skull & Haha has issued an official statement regarding their scheduled appearance at the 2026 Miryang Super Festival, which is drawing criticism for proceeding amid a severe drought.

Their agency, Kwan Entertainment, said Friday it wanted to "first extend words of comfort and encouragement to the residents of Miryang and all those suffering from the extreme drought."

The agency said it was "deeply concerned and regretful" that the 2026 Miryang Super Festival — a water-themed event featuring Skull & Haha — was pressing ahead despite the severe drought conditions, but added that "the performance is unavoidable due to a contract already in place."

The festival, which centers on water activities, has drawn criticism from some quarters as ill-timed amid the severe drought gripping the Miryang area.

"We have accepted the legal determination that we have no choice but to fulfill our contractual obligations, and have reluctantly decided to have Skull & Haha perform," the agency said, offering an apology to "everyone suffering day and night to overcome the drought."

The agency went on to say that "Kwan Entertainment and Skull & Haha have decided to donate their entire performance fee from the Saturday concert to support Miryang's efforts to overcome the drought and provide even a small measure of help to its residents," adding that the duo would "do their utmost to stand by Miryang residents so they do not lose hope even in these difficult times."
