Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Jo Yu-jin visited Yeongdeungpo Park on Saturday for the third annual Yeongdeungpo Summer Water Festival.
About 3,000 visitors, mostly families with young children and elementary school students, attended the event. They beat the midsummer heat with water slides, water gun battles and splash pools, and watched a range of performances including magic and bubble shows.
Jo toured the water play facilities and event grounds to ensure children could enjoy the festival safely, and greeted residents who came out to the venue.
"I hope everyone can cool off close to home and make cherished memories with their families," Jo said. "We will continue expanding leisure spaces throughout residential areas so residents can spend a safe and healthy summer."
