Biden's cancer has spread beyond bones, son Hunter reveals

Former US President Joe Biden's prostate cancer has spread beyond his bones to other parts of his body, his son Hunter Biden revealed, describing the situation as "very painful."

In an interview with the BBC on Saturday, Hunter Biden was asked about his father's health. "The cancer has metastasized and spread to the bones and beyond," he said. "It's very painful. It's really sad to watch."

He added, "The one thing I can say about my father's health right now is that I wish he would complain more."

Biden disclosed last May, after leaving office, that he was battling prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. He also underwent surgery to remove skin cancer cells in September of that year.

Hunter Biden said his father has continued to speak out on issues he cares about even while undergoing treatment.

"My father believes in this country," he said. "I promise you that as long as he is alive, he will keep fighting."

Hunter Biden was convicted on gun law violations and indicted on tax evasion charges. In December 2024, near the end of his term, Biden pardoned his son despite the political backlash the decision drew.

Hunter Biden acknowledged that the pardon had been "unfair" and "not good" for the United States or his father's legacy, and went on to describe himself as "the most privileged person in the world" for having received it.
