Residents can get on-site help with everyday grievances and administrative complaints
Siheung city announced Monday that its citizens' ombudsman office will partner with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to run a mobile civil complaints consultation service on Aug. 27 at a meeting room on the third floor of the Yeonseong-dong Community Service Center.
The program — known in Korean as "Dallineun Gungmin Sinmungo," or a traveling public petition service — sends commission officials and partner agency counselors directly into communities to consult residents on grievances involving government and public institutions, everyday inconveniences, suggestions and general legal matters, with the aim of finding practical solutions on the spot.
The service is free and open to all Siheung residents, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Yeonseong-dong Community Service Center. To improve accessibility, satellite consultation booths will also operate from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Eunhaeng-dong and Jeongwang 3-dong community service centers.
Residents wishing to book a consultation may submit an application form at their local community service center or at the Citizens' Grievance Office within Siheung City Hall by Aug. 18. Online registration via QR code is available through Aug. 23, and walk-in consultations will also be accepted on the day of the event.
"This is an opportunity to listen directly to the various difficulties residents face and work together to find solutions," said Park Myeong-gi, Siheung's citizens' ombudsman. "We encourage anyone with a long-standing complaint or everyday inconvenience to come and take part."
