Bodyfriend enters health supplement market with new 'Bodyfriend Healthcare' brand

Bodyfriend is entering the health supplement market, expanding its business beyond massage chairs and healthcare robots as it pursues a strategy to become what it calls a "total healthy-longevity care company."

The company announced Monday the launch of its health supplement brand "Bodyfriend Healthcare," with an initial lineup of three products: Geunryeokfit Curcumin Gold, Gwanjeolfit Chondroitin Mucopolysaccharide Protein 1200, and Slimfit Diet Morosil VITA.

Drawing on a customer base of about 1.6 million, along with healthcare usage data and customer health interests, Bodyfriend identified six focus areas for its supplement business: muscle strength, joints, body fat and blood sugar, sleep, eye health, and vitality.

Geunryeokfit Curcumin Gold uses a turmeric extract individually recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its potential to support muscle strength improvement. The product applies a nano-solubilization patent technology to curcumin and combines it with secondary ingredients including MSM, NAG, vitamin D3, seaweed calcium and amino acids.

Gwanjeolfit Chondroitin Mucopolysaccharide Protein 1200 contains 1,200 milligrams of bovine cartilage-derived mucopolysaccharide protein per daily serving, along with vitamins D and K and manganese.

Slimfit Diet Morosil VITA incorporates Morosil, which may help reduce body fat, and banaba leaf extract, which may help suppress post-meal blood sugar spikes. The product also contains vitamin C and eight types of B vitamins.

Each product's packaging features a single-syllable Korean keyword designed to evoke its intended health benefit.

Bodyfriend plans to sequentially release three additional products — a sleep support supplement, a lutein-based eye health gummy and a multivitamin and immune support gummy — bringing its total health supplement lineup to six.

Bodyfriend serves as the retail distributor for the supplement line. Geunryeokfit Curcumin Gold is manufactured by Arinus, while Gwanjeolfit Chondroitin Mucopolysaccharide Protein 1200 and Slimfit Diet Morosil VITA are produced by Kwangdong Healthbio.

"This is a project aimed at building a new health management domain by combining healthcare robots with inner care," a Bodyfriend official said. "We will continue to expand the products and services that fit our customers' daily lives."
