Actor Moon Ji-in, comedian Kim Ki-ri welcome son two years after marriage

Actor Moon Ji-in, 40, and comedian Kim Ki-ri, 40, have welcomed a healthy baby boy two years into their marriage, after enduring a miscarriage.

Moon gave birth to a son at an obstetrics clinic on Friday, her agency Sim Story said Monday. Both mother and child are in good health.

Moon and Kim married in May 2024. They became pregnant shortly after but suffered a miscarriage.

On Thursday, two days before the birth, Moon shared a message with fans. "I really don't have much time left," she wrote, adding, "Throughout my entire pregnancy, I received so much love and blessings from so many people — it was a grace and gratitude I have no way to repay."

She went on to say, "Saengmyeongi (the baby's nickname) and I — even if it takes time, we will live our lives repaying all that love, so please stay by our side and wait for us."

Moon made her debut in 2009 as an SBS 11th-class talent recruit and has appeared in the drama series "The Doctors," "Beauty Inside" and "Kill Heel."

Kim broke onto the scene in 2010 as a KBS 25th-class comedian recruit through the variety show "Gag Concert." He has since expanded into acting, appearing in the film "Zombie Crush: Heyri," the stage production "Hertzklan" and the drama series "Superhero Family," "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" and "Summer, Please."
