Residents went for a morning run Monday amid mild weather as the Kkumsaekim display board on the exterior wall of the Seoul Library in Jung-gu was dressed with a message marking the 81st Liberation Day. The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it decorated the board with an image of the Taegukgi flying vigorously against a blue sky, alongside the message: "That day in 1945, when the Taegukgi felt like the coolest breeze. We carry on the joy of liberation." The city said the display honors the sacrifice of independence patriots and invites citizens to reflect on the meaning of liberation.
